Beijing Action, China
The Beijing Action took place in a small village called 西平庄 (Xipingzhuang) on the outskirts of Beijing. The menu was printed on large posters mounted on the AOD MOBILE BEIJING (tricycle) and featured a 9-minutes-composition, an air cleaning bicycle and a mime improvisation. In exchange for a performance people were expected to trade short activities like taking a picture with the group, telling a story or teaching three Chinese characters. Besides the three performing artists, two assistants were translating and filming. During one day the group was dashing around the village performing inside people’s houses, shops and restaurants.
Participating Artists:
Lilian Beidler (Switzerland, sound artist)
Noah Schenk (USA, conceptual artist)
王梓 Wang Zi (China, mime actor)
